Displaying energy labels in shops

The correct presence of energy labels on appliances and products in shops and catalogues or internet product advertising varies by country, by appliance type and by shop type.

Experience shows that the presence of labels on appliances in many shops is in general high around the EU; however, significant problems still exist in relation to specific product groups and distribution channels. This relates mainly to small shops, kitchen furniture studios, internet sales, appliances with special surfaces and design, newly labelled appliances, etc.

The release of the EU legislation on the new energy labels for four product groups (including TVs for the first time ever), makes it even more important to support the correct application of energy labels in shops.

The purpose of this activity therefore is to support the proper placing of energy labels with the aim of increasing the presence of labels in shops, to the benefit customers.
